The LoDown with Lois Robbins - Guest : Fran Drescher

Welcome to the LoDown, a podcast hosted by Lois Robbins exploring the voices inside and outside the entertainment industry.

On this episode of the LoDown, Lois speaks with… well… none other than Fran Drescher! Yes, the dynamo we all came to love back in 1993 when she starred in the CBS hit sitcom, The Nanny.

Fran began acting back in the seventies in movies like Saturday Night Fever - “So, are you as good in bed as you are on the dance floor?” - American Hot Wax and Summer of Fear. Since then, her resume is endlessly studded with film, television, stage, and voice acting gems that one can’t help falling in love with.

But Fran Drescher came up in Queens, NY. She is so much more than an actress.

She’s been a bright and inspiring role model - both in her fight against cancer and as U.S. Envoy for Women’s Health Issues for the State Department. She even had a hand in passing federal legislation to raise awareness of gynecologic cancer.

Lois and Fran get right down to brass tacks about everything from processing grief to making each other laugh.

We get our dose of “Neu Yawk” grit and then some. It’s a hoot.
